About Us

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is committed to fostering an environment of education, research, and scholarship with the goal of improving health outcomes for the people of Arizona and beyond. As part of our mission, we seek to enhance the professional development of practicing physicians and other health professionals, while providing opportunities for our students and physicians in training to work more closely with the greater medical community. (Read our full Mission Statement.)

The College has been actively engaged in continuing medical education and continuing professional development since its founding in 1967. We have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) since 1986.

The Office of CME manages the administrative functions required for CME providership of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. This is the only type of continuing education credit that we offer. As Arizona’s only MD-degree granting university, we work with our faculty and other medical educators in Arizona and elsewhere to provide a range of high-quality continuing medical education activities.

If you would like to develop a CME activity, please visit our Planning an Activity page.
