Timelines/Deadlines

To provide CME approval, we prefer to have more than 60 days to collect and review the information required by ACCME. Applications received less than 60 days prior to the start date of your activity are subject to a Rush Fee. Applications received less than 30 days prior to the start date of your activity are subject to a Special Rush Fee (if we agree to process the application on such short notice, which we are not always able to do).

Until you have received a formal approval letter from the CME Office, you cannot mention on promotional materials that you have received CME providership from The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson.

Here are various timelines/deadlines for gaining CME providership and for reporting data to our office:

  1. A completed New Activity Proposal Form, all Planning Committee Member conflict of interest disclosures, and an agenda with topic and time allocations (for live courses/conferences) are due 60 days or more before the earlier occurrence of a.) the first day of your activity, or b.) the first day you will begin to promote your activity.
  2. All materials that we need to review must be submitted to us 15 days or more before you need to take action with them. For example, promotional flyers for your event should be submitted to us 15 days or more before you need to distribute them. Faculty conflict of interest disclosures should also be submitted 15 days or more before the start of your educational event.
  3. Providership renewal applications (RSS and enduring materials only) must also be submitted 60 days before the current expiration date (or the new date by which you need the activity re-approved). If your RSS (e.g., grand rounds) or enduring material has been previously approved, we can review your request for renewal using the Renewal Application.
  4. We will need all additional supporting data within 60 days after the conclusion of your activity, or on an ongoing basis for RSS and Enduring Materials events. This includes participant information, survey evaluations, expense/revenue information, and any other requested materials.
